F.I.V.B. a sick house

The FIVB can be taken as a model of a sick organization.

What happens there can only be imagined as part of grotesque or comic book.

The queen and Chairwoman is Madame Maria de Lourdes de la Fuente de Acosta (Malú)

Is she who takes decisions, intrigues, corrupts, and oversees and signals who will live and who must die.
Is she who enters in any commission meeting, also in the Board of Administration, to interrupt anybody, at any moment, besides she is not a member of any body.

She may silent any member using the floor, by closing the microphone, or may finish any video presentation when she decides that is enough.
In the last Congress she took the microphone off the hands of a Congress member, while he was saying something against his husband, she gives the orders, and fires the personnel that she suppose is not loyal, or does not obey her many times incredible orders immediately.

Democracy and majority opinions are not respected, if there are not in line with Acosta thinking.

The minutes of the meetings, are prepared by the Commission President’s, and reviewed by Ruben Acosta, who modifies anything if he is not in agreement.
He prepares the final wording, even in the meetings where he did not attended.

In a Sport Organizing Commission Meeting, not long ago, where the decision had been taken about the assignment of vacancies for the Junior World Championship, Acosta entered the room, immediately after the decision, then the Commission President explained him the decision already taken, and Acosta said- I DISAGREE, then he was told, President, we just voted unanimously.
OK, then submit your opinion and will be changed in the Board Meeting, - but President, the Board Meeting will be after the beginning of the Tournaments. -
OK, so I will make use of the Presidential attributes and change your decision.

A commission decided to split in three groups in order to discuss different parts of their agenda, and afterwards to make a plenarium.
Immediately an employee came down, saying that the FIVB President did not allow them to divide. ¿Why?
Because TV Close Circuit follows the meetings where Acosta is not present from his office, and when he heard something he would not like, immediately intervenes.

The important decisions as carrying the World Championships in 1998 and 2006 to Japan, are not discussed at the Board of Administration Meetings.

Ruben Acosta decides taking into consideration the agreements he has with TV chains in Japan, he signs the contracts beforehand, and of course he takes for himself the 10%.

This is the decision making process, of those issues that represent business for Acosta, that are informed afterwards as already taken, without any possible discussion, and sometimes not even informed.

The assignments of Wild Cards, are made following Acosta interest, or are the exchange price of other favours.
The last two wild cards for the 2003 World Cup, were given to Egypt and Dominican Republic, because the two loyal vice-presidents Elwany and Marte, supported him in the last conflict.
In the same way Dominican Republic was appointed for a Second Chance in the Olympic Qualification Tournaments 2004, registering them in South America, after organizing a Qualification in his own territory, to pay Cristobal Marte submissiveness.

While voting in 2000 for the XXº Century best Player, the winner was the American Karch Kiraly, but Malu does not like Kiraly because his critic position regarding Acosta, then she appointed the Italian Bernardi, only with her finger, and without the Jury intervention.

The VolleyWorld Magazine is another example of the sickness in World Volleyball.
Is a large collection of the Presidential Couple, photography’s and a clear show of the “Personality Cult”, that ashames everybody.

Transparency is forbidden in the FIVB environment.
Nobody must know about what happens inside that “Crystal House”, mainly in the economy.
The signature in contracts, receipts, and payment orders is reserved to the President Acosta or the General Manager, Jean Pierre Seppey, appointed by Acosta.
The financial control is in the hands of the Finance Commission, Presided by the same man: Jean Pierre Seppey.
Of course this is against any control rule, and is a clear Conflict of Interest, forbidden even in the FIVB Code of Conduct, if not in any law.
